The Legends of Bourbon County Festival is in its second year. The only festival in Kentucky to celebrate local hometown horse racing celebrities is scheduled for October 11-13, 2024. 2023 featured Secretariat. 2024 the celebrated legend is CURLIN, who currently stands at Hill ‘n Dale Farm at Xalapa, the sponsor of the festival. Bourbon County has a thriving thoroughbred industry and is often referred to as the Thoroughbred Capitol of Kentucky.
Everyone is invited to take part in this festival! Come and enjoy a fabulous gala featuring signature cocktails and dinner served by Kentucky Chef, Ouita Michel. After dinner you will enjoy musical entertainment by The Jimmy Church Band and this ticketed event is being held on beautiful Hill ‘n Dale Farm. Also, on the farm, Saturday, September 28th there will be a 5k and 10k run, and yes, walkers are very welcome to participate. This event is something special!
On Saturday downtown Paris will come alive with vendors/artists/artisans selling a variety of wares in the Thoroughbred Marketplace… tents will be set up down the middle of Main St. and the shops will have lots to offer with special sales to draw customers in to their boutiques! If you are looking for entertainment there will be a Festival Concert stage set up right in the middle of town with live music all day! If you are hungry choose from all sorts of food trucks, and local restaurants! Stop in and relax at one of the local bars and pub!
During the day on Saturday, you are invited to attend the unveiling ceremony of our latest mural! You can’t miss it! Curlin painted by renowned equine artist, Jaime Corum! And what would our festival be without an Equine Parade? And all of this is just on Saturday, so add Sunday to your list with the addition of lots of family friendly activities!!
